Muljibhai Patel Society for Research in Nephro-Urology (MPSRNU) is a premier research center recognized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Established in 1984 and inaugurated by Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, then Vice President of India, MPSRNU has been dedicated to advancing nephrology, urology and allied sciences through groundbreaking research and innovative solutions.

As a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO), recognized by the DSIR and Ministry of Finance, we have played a pivotal role in shaping the future of patient care through groundbreaking research. been an early pioneer in India for several groundbreaking surgical techniques. We were among the first to introduce the Stone Cone in ureteroscopic surgery, a tool that effectively prevents stone migration during procedures, enhancing the success of stone removal. Additionally, MPUH led clinical trials on Microperc, the smallest puncture technique for stone removal, revolutionizing minimally invasive surgery in urology.

We have introduced vital diagnostic tools such as ultrasound, histoscan, PSA tests, and transrectal sonography to India, revolutionizing prostate cancer diagnosis. Through collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, we have helped bring new medicines to the global market in the field of Urology and Nephrology. MPSRNU remains committed to cutting-edge research that drives significant advancements in nephrology and urology, improving patient outcomes and setting new standards for care.

Our History

The Muljibhai Patel Society for Research in Nephro-Urology (MPUH) in Nadiad has published over 375 research papers. This institution is renowned for its contributions to nephrology and urology, with a significant number of research outputs contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge in these fields (India Science and Technology) (MPUH)
